Teen Troubles
Information about Teen Behavior

The American Society for Adolescent Psychiatry (ASAP) is a professional organization comprised of psychiatrists who have demonstrated an active interest in working with adolescents. Members are involved in helping adolescents in nearly every conceivable setting - hospitals, clinics, private practice, schools, detention facilities - and who are involved in therapy, research, education and consultation.

ASAP

  1. provides a forum for scientific exchange of psychiatric knowledge about adolescents,
  2. serves as a source of informed psychiatric opinion on adolescents,
  3. enhances and improves the knowledge and skills of physicians and other health care professionals caring for adolescents in order to assure optimal health care delivery,
  4. encourages and supports research on the psychopathology and treatment of adolescents, and
  5. improves the ability of psychiatrists and other physicians to recognize, diagnose, and treat psychiatric problems in adolescents.
